Scott was born in Greenwood, South Carolina on February 15, 1963. He received his B.S. Degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina in 1985. Upon graduation, he served on active duty as an officer in the United States Navy from 1985 to 1989 and in the Naval Reserves until 1994. In 1992, he received his J. D. Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe and the Editorial Board of the South Carolina Law Review. Prior to opening his own office in January of 1999, Scott was an associate with Gibbes, Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A. from August of 1992 until July of 1997 and with Clarkson, Fortson, Walsh & Rheney, P.A. from July of 1997 until January of 1999. He is a the South Carolina Bar Association and the Greenville County Bar Association. Scott is married, has four children and is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.
